Mexico Festival Success

The pueblo of Ahuacapan is nestled at the entrance of the Sierra de Manantlán Biosphere Reserve in Jalisco, Mexico. This beautiful protected area is home to a wide diversity of birds, including both resident and migratory hummingbirds. The University of Guadalajara, City of Ahuacapan, and other participating organizations hosted the first Hummingbird Festival in November 2018 to celebrate these tiny dynamos. The event was a big success, with visitors coming from Guadalajara and other parts of the state of Jalisco. Members of the Western Hummingbird Partnership participated, attending presentations and joining bird walks. Hundreds of participants of all ages joined the activities, which spanned two days.
